Diagnosis in Breast Cancer
Breast cancer diagnosis is made by imaging units and clinical examination findings. The main pillar of imaging is annual mammography. According to the structural features and findings of the breast, breast ultrasound can be added to mammography. Mammographs, which were taken with analog devices in the past, are made with digital devices today. Surgical Treatments in Breast Cancer Breast cancer surgery is divided into two as breast-sparing surgery and other surgical methods.
Breast conserving surgery is a treatment that is performed by taking some of the breast instead of the whole.
This technique may require biopsy of the axillary lymph nodes and post-operative radiation therapy. Other surgical methods are the removal of the entire breast. While taking the entire breast, the nipple and skin can be protected and emptied completely, if appropriate. In this last option, a new breast is made. In this method, if necessary, axillay lymph biopsy can be performed.
